MCLEAN, VA — Kajeet, the smart phone for kids, the safest cell phone for kids®, today announced the launch of Kajeet for Education, the safest mobile classroom for kids. This new division of Kajeet will provide affordable, safe, scalable solutions to bring Internet-capable mobile devices to students everywhere. Education industry veteran Michael Flood has been named Kajeet’s Vice President of Education Markets and will lead the company’s mobile learning initiatives.
A leader in K-12 and higher education technology, Flood will use his extensive experience in education technology and telecommunications enterprises to introduce Kajeet for Education’s suite of mobile learning solutions to schools, school districts, parents and students. Through Kajeet for Education, schools will be able to offer students broadband Internet access via Kajeet-enabled mobile computing devices to ensure a safe online learning environment.
“Mobile broadband is the key to transforming education and preparing students for the jobs of tomorrow. Today’s environment requires more flexibility and customization of solutions to fit the needs of schools and families than the market has yet provided. Kajeet for Education will be the sole source of a powerful combination of capabilities to optimize budgets, enable mobile learning, and protect students across a variety of devices,” Flood said.
As head of Kajeet’s mobile learning division, Flood will work to expand the product line offerings to include laptops, netbooks, tablets, smartphones and other devices. Flood will also focus on developing business models that are compliant with E-Rate standards and the Children's Internet Protection Act while addressing school budget requirements.
”Schools are struggling to balance their classroom technology needs in the face of unprecedented cost constraints. Kajeet for Education offers an affordable way for schools to level the technology playing field for all students, while meeting parents’ expectations for a safe and secure online learning environment,” said Daniel Neal, CEO of Kajeet.
Before joining Kajeet, Flood was the Education Solutions Practice Manager for AT&T, where he was involved in product and service design, marketing strategy, vertical industry knowledge transfer to AT&T’s education sales force and executive briefings. Prior to that, Flood was responsible for the overall company strategy, programs and partnerships for the K-12 market at Sprint.
