MCLEAN, Virginia—February 5, 2018—Kajeet®, the industry leader for safe, mobile student Internet connectivity, today announced results from its recent survey exploring how Internet-enabled devices are used in classrooms. Kajeet collected feedback from 451 school administrators across the country, discovering the latest about Internet and device use inside and outside the classroom, mobile device and classroom management tools, and other technologies being used by schools around the country.
In the “Student Device Survey,” Kajeet discovered laptop and mobile device use is very high, with 98 percent of respondents indicating that students use devices at least once per week as part of the curricula and 79 percent reporting daily student use—of those devices Chromebooks (31 percent of respondents), iPads (26 percent of respondents), and Windows laptops (17 percent) are the most commonly-used devices.
“School districts have tremendous opportunities and challenges ahead as education technology continues to evolve. Educators are faced with adapting to new technology and pedagogy daily to keep up with the ever-evolving, 21st-century-education landscape,” said Kajeet CEO and Founder Daniel Neal. “As technology continues to proliferate into school curricula, it will be evermore critical to centrally manage this technology to keep students’ digital lives safe, track device use, and save administrators’ invaluable time.”
