Safely Extend the Classroom with Filters
Filters
When your students are in school, there is peace of mind that they are safely and securely connected to the Internet. But what happens when the students bring home those school-issued devices? How can you achieve that same level of safety and security at home? We know parents and teachers are the best possible filters, but it is unrealistic to think that an adult can be over your students’ shoulders every minute of every day – that is where our patented* education filtering comes into play!

Our innovative Kajeet Sentinel® cloud portal analyzes and categorizes millions of new URL's every day and provides customizable filtered Internet access to keep students focused on school work and provide educational connectivity. Our filtering controls allows schools and districts to: New Call-to-action
  • Fully customize and filter websites that students can - or cannot - visit
  • Set times of day or night appropriate for student use and manage access hours
  • Filter out both inappropriate AND non-educational content
  • Receive reports with learning analytics to help improve student achievement
  • Reduce unnecessary use of bandwidth and drive down costs for the entire program
  • Monitor all device usage and generate useful reports and analytics to understand web traffic activity

Worry-Free, Pre-Configured Filtering
The World Wide Web can bring the world to every child’s fingertips, but how much of that world do you want your students seeing on your district-issued devices? Our cloud-based CIPA-compliant, education-only filtering can help you ease your worries, but it is also deployed more quickly, less expensive, and more convenient than building a staff-consuming Virtual Private Network (VPN) back to your district servers. Education Broadband comes with two, pre-configured settings for K-8 and 9-12 students to help you get started:

quote Being able to offer filtered Internet content was key. The Kajeet SmartSpots have been a great way for us to get Internet access into those homes, and from what we are seeing, it is having a tremendous impact!”

Curbing the Temptations
filters2
Kids are kids and we know they like to socialize on sites like Facebook®, Instagram® and Twitter®. We also know that they - or their family members - will use school-issued devices for entertainment such as Netflix®, YouTube®, Hulu®, and Pandora®. These are the types of sites that eat up broadband data, consume heavy bandwidth, and can cost schools and districts thousands of dollars in unnecessary costs. These social entertainment sites also distract kids from the task at hand: schoolwork. That’s not what district-issued devices are for.
12-1
According to Ericsson’s Mobility Report, two-thirds of data traffic comes from Facebook, YouTube, Netflix, Instagram and Snapchat.  Because Education Broadband service is paid for by the school or district, it is designed to allow students to access tools for learning, but curb the natural temptation to have the Kajeet SmartSpot and broadband access become their source for television shows, gaming, social networks, and video chatting.
Kajeet Education Broadband keeps students focused on schoolwork and not distracted by the social and entertainment content on the Internet. We want to make every effort to ensure students are able to access the educational content they need. If there are specific educational resources your students need to access, Kajeet can narrowly tailor modifications to the filter so that we do not open up significant non-educational use by students.
